Gary William Garr

Gary William Garr, 68, passed away on July 14, 2017. He was a proud United States Marine who served two tours in Vietnam. Gary was a talented artist, loving father and devoted Christian. He filled the world with his honesty, sense of humor and zeal for following Christ.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Billy and Wanda Garr and brother, Kelly Garr.
Gary is survived by his children, Brian (Celeste) Garr, Jill (Aaron) Snyder and Julie (Aaron) Montgomery; grandchildren, Isaac, Nathan, Jude, Avery, Aidan, Andrew, Christian, Tyler and Ella; sisters, Sandy (Don) Figel, Betty (Bob) Higgins and Lynn (Danny) Kessinger and his feathered friend, Jay Jay.
Visitation will be at Newcomer Funeral Home, Southwest Louisville Chapel, 10304 Dixie Highway, Louisville, KY, on Thursday, July 20, 2017, from 12pm-8pm. A celebration of Gary's life will be at the chapel of Newcomer Funeral Home beginning at 12pm on Friday, July 21, 2017. A graveside service will be at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery - Central, 2501 Dixie Highway, Radcliff, KY beginning at 2pm.
