Terrance Robert Powell

Terrance Robert "Terry" Powell , 65, of Sellersburg, Indiana passed away on July 1, 2017. He was a proud veteran of the United States Navy who served during the Vietnam War. Terry loved hunting, fishing and was a devoted UK fan. He was a member of St. John Paul II Catholic Church in Sellersburg for over 17 years. Along with spending time with his family, he loved being around his faithful canine companions, Ike, Spike and Gizmo.

Terry was born on August 21, 1951, in Louisville, Kentucky to Eugene Robert Powell and the late Shirley (Hile) Powell. He was also preceded in death by his sister-in-law, Robyne Powell.

Terry is survived by his wife, Karen (Miller) Powell; children, Angela Powell (Jean Buchanan), Amanda Boberg (Chris), Lauren Shireman (Chris); brother, David Powell; sisters, Debbie Cooley (Chuck), Karen Morgan (Jeffrey), Janet O'Keefe (Robert), Linda Schamel (Mark) and Michele Steggeman (Jim); grandchildren, Jacob Boberg and Graeme Shireman.

Visitation will be from 1:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Wednesday, July 5, 2017, at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). His Mass will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday at St. John Paul II Catholic Church - St. Paul Campus (218 Schellers Avenue, Sellersburg, IN 47172) with burial to follow at St. Patrick Catholic Cemetery in Salem, IN.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Terry's name can be made to the Kentucky Organ Donor Affiliates (10160 Linn Station Road, Louisville, Kentucky 40223).
