Connie (Baker) Newton, 64, of Palmyra, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, June 13, 2017. She possessed a big heart and genuinely enjoyed being around others. Connie's grandchildren were her pride and joy. She also liked researching genealogy, as well as taking photographs. Connie's favorite time of the year was Halloween, and she also loved both horror and comedy movies.
She was born on April 21, 1953, in Ft. Knox, Kentucky. Connie was preceded in death by her father, Vernon Baker; stepfather, Donald Sill, Sr.; and great-grandson, Billy Sherman.
Connie is survived by her husband of over 39 years, Denny Newton; children, Brian Newton (Doris), Shawn Newton (Susant), and John Newton (Krystal); mother, Barbara (Hattabaugh) Sill; siblings, Kathy Kyrillidis (Archemedes), Roy Bluebaugh, Karen Bruce (Stewart), Donnie Sill (Crystal), Sheri Alcocer (William), Sandra Hobbs (Paul), and Lucinda Gray (Donnie); sister-in-law, Rosalie Bluebaugh; grandchildren, Ashley, Elijah, Mia, Brody, Alex, Samuel, and Victoria; nieces and nephews, Jennifer, Dakota, Jason, Amanda, Christopher, Haley, Morgan, Gabriel, Kadin, Paige, Adaline, and Avery.
Cremation was chosen following Connie's wishes. A Memorial Gathering will be from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 24, 2017, at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) with her Memorial Service taking place at 2:00 p.m. Connie will be laid to rest privately at a later date at Palmyra Cemetery.
The family requests that contributions in Connie's memory be made to her family in care of the funeral home to help assist with funeral expenses.
