Jacob Evan Trulock, 18, a senior at New Albany High School, became another angel on Tuesday, March 28, 2017. He was doing what he loved, hiking with a friend. Jacob always had a smile on his face and a snack or candy in his hand.
He was the captain of the New Albany Soccer team, member of the National Honor Society, and competed locally and on a state level with Science Olympiad. Jacob planned on pursuing a degree in biomechanical engineering at Purdue. He was an assistant coach for SIU Academy. Jacob also worked at Jay C's in Sellersburg and was a member of St. John Paul II Catholic Church. He was loved by his many friends and family members. Jacob had a way of lighting up a room when he walked into it.
He is survived by his mom, Donna Trulock-Jones (Shane); dad, Sonny Trulock (Lisa); sister, Madelyn; brother, Wyatt; aunt, Debbie Trulock Ettel; uncle, Mark Abel; and many other aunts, uncles, and grandparents. Jacob was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Floyd and Peggy Trulock.
Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 2, 2017, at St. John Paul II Catholic Church - St. Paul Campus (105 St. Paul Street, Sellersburg, Indiana 47172). His Funeral Mass will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Monday at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Jacob Trulock Scholarship Fund in care of Community Foundation of Louisville (325 West Main Street, Suite 1110, Louisville, Kentucky 40202).
