Dr. Allen William Grubb, age 87 of Louisville, passed away Saturday, February 11, 2017. Born in Baltimore, MD., he grew up in Belair, MD. Allen was an Army Veteran of both WWII and the Korean War. He earned an undergraduate degree from West Virginia University, and Masters and Doctorate from Indiana University.

His career was spent in hospital education having worked at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, IN and Community Hospital in Indianapolis, from which he retired. A loving husband and father, family was of utmost importance to Allen. He was simply the best at being a Dad and Grandfather. He was a Master Gardener and loved reading, IU basketball, U of L Cardinals, travel, golf, horseracing, and good Kentucky bourbon.

Allen is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Natalie; children, Robin Harkey (Glen), L. Scott Grubb (Lynn), Karen Schlachter (Roger) and Laura Grubb (Jim Risch); grandchildren, Evan Harkey and Connor Harkey; and a host of relatives and friends.

Visitation will be 3-5pm Thursday, February 16, 2017 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 235 Juneau Drive, followed by a celebration of Allen's life at 5pm.
