Gregory Allen Viers

Gregory Allen Viers, 52, of Palmyra, IN, formerly of Louisville, passed away on Monday, January 30, 2017. He was a 1982 graduate of Trinity High School and earned a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Louisville in 1987. Greg was a big sports fan and especially loved the U of L Cardinals. He always enjoyed watching his sons play baseball and was an avid Pete Rose fan. Greg dedicated his life to social work and was passionate about helping people who could not help themselves which also led him to being a big supporter for the Louisville AIDS Walk.

Greg is survived by his wife, Lydia Jane (Montgomery) Viers; sons, Tyler & Evan Viers; step children, Kelli (Billy), Amanda, Taylor, Austin, & Blake; mother, Elizabeth (Jackson) Viers; brothers, Paul Viers (Charlotte) and Keith Viers (Julie); grandchildren, Kinley & Henry; step grandchildren, Dakotah, Skyler, Ashtyn, Wyatt, Miguel, & Briley; step great grandson, Grayson; aunt, Sharron Leahy (Mike); uncle, Curtis Jackson (Rayner); and many nieces, nephews and other relatives. He is preceded in death by his father, Paul Viers; son, Hunter; step daughter, Natalie.

Visitation will be from 3 PM to 7 PM Friday, February 3, 2017 at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). A Funeral Service will immediately follow at 7 PM.
