Cecillia Lee "Debbie" (Black) Durham, 59, a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, of Jeffersonville, Indiana, passed away on Friday morning, January 6, 2017. She was a fan and alumnus of Indiana University. Debbie enjoyed making crafts and was a member of St. Luke's Missionary Baptist Church in Louisville.
She was born on June 6, 1957, in Louisville, Kentucky, to the late George and Bertie (Scott) Black. Debbie was also preceded in death by her brother, Lawrence Embry.
Debbie is survived by her husband of 20 years, Virgil Durham, Sr.; children, Kyauna Black, Virgil Durham, Jr. (fiancé, Sara Martin), Whitney Durham, and Yukiko Martin (Randy); brother, George Cecil Black; sister-cousin, Lynn Scott; sister-in-law, Pearlie Embry; grandchildren, Kennedi and Brianna; aunts, Mary Scott and Myra Scott; nephew, Rodney Embry; and dear sister-friend, Sheila O'Bannon.
Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Friday, January 20, 2017, at First Trinity Missionary Baptist Church (1506 Spring Street, Jeffersonville, Indiana 47130). Her Funeral Service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at church with burial to follow at Eastern Cemetery in Jeffersonville.
