Helen Yvonne Meeks

Helen "Yvonne" Meeks, 72, passed away on September 5, 2016. She was a member of Valley Station Church of God and also Lighthouse of Prayer. Yvonne was loving and devoted to her family. She was a talented mandolin player and loved singing with her sisters. Going to the ocean with Bill was one of her favorite places to be, as well as fishing with him.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William "Bill" Meeks; son, James Hope, Jr.; step-son, Robert Meeks; father, Luther Burton; mother, Martha Bryant Jordan; step-father, William Jordan and sister, Corriene Sue Baumgardner.

Yvonne is survived by her children, Roy (Ruby) Madden, Alfred (Natalie) Madden, Martin (Tonya) Madden and Sheila Madden; step-children, Norma Lee Meeks Yarberry, Gary Meeks and Taylor Meeks; sisters, Jessica (Ronnie) Brooks, Wendelin "Wendy" (Gary) Waldridge, Carla (Joe) Cambron and Kimberly "Jo" (Gary) Ray; brothers, Walter "Buster" (Abigail) Jordan, James "Eddie" Jordan and Kevin (Melinda) Jordan; 12 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be Monday, September 12, 2016, at Newcomer Funeral Home SW Chapel (10304 Dixie Highway) from 9am-8pm. A celebration of Helen's life will be Tuesday, September 13, 2016, beginning at 10:30am at the chapel of Newcomer Funeral Home.

Burial will follow at Bethany Cemetery, 10917 Dixie Hwy, Valley Station, KY.
