Thompson, Shirley Ann, 77, of Louisville, Kentucky passed away on July 30, 2016.
Shirley was born on November 6, 1938 in Louisville, Kentucky to the late James and Vonley Shoulders. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Leon Thompson.
She is survived by her two sons, Doug Thompson (Kathy) and James Thompson (Judy); grandchildren, Michelle Metcalf (Jason), Kelly Thompson, Lisa Marie Thompson, Jamie Thompson, Beau Thompson, James Allen Thompson, Jr. and Brian Thompson, Sr.; great-grandchildren, Jayden Metcalf, Presley Metcalf, Dayton Metcalf, Santiago Ramirez, Izabella Ramirez, Mikaella Ramirez, Jaylen Thompson, Brian Thompson, Jr., Brice Thompson and Mason Thompson.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 3, 2016 at Newcomer Funeral Home (10304 Dixie Highway, Louisville, KY 40272), with a funeral service to follow at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be held at Bell Cemetery in Greensburg, Kentucky.
Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
