Judy Laine (DeWeese) Berry, 73, of Jeffersonville, Indiana, passed away after a hard-fought battle with cancer on Sunday, July 10, 2016, at her home. Judy graduated from New Albany High School in 1960 and was a proficient secretary for several years. After starting a family, she was an active parent at Fairmont Elementary School and was a homemaker most of her life.
She was born on October 27, 1942, in Milltown, Indiana, to the late James and Ruth (Baylor) DeWeese. She was also preceded in death by her doting brother Billy DeWeese and several beloved kitties.
Judy is survived by her husband of 31 years, James Berry, Sr.; children, David Clemons, Jr. (Lisa), and Kelly Clemons Kingsley (Rusty) of Palmyra and Kathy Clemons Sohaney of Georgetown; two stepchildren, James Berry, Jr. (Lisa), and Jana Berry Auspland (Scott); sister, Barbara Baker; brother, Terry DeWeese (Paula); and sister-in-law, Sarah DeWeese. Also surviving are her precious grandchildren, Kristen Clemons Doster, Brian Clemons, Stephanie Wagner, Tori and Davey Kingsley, Bailey and Christian Auspland, and Trey, Grant, and Abby Berry; precocious great-grandchildren Luke, Annaliese, and Sarah Doster; and adoring nephew, Evan DeWeese.
Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 13, 2016, at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). Her Funeral Service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Thursday in the chapel at the funeral home, with burial to follow at Union Chapel Cemetery in Milltown, Indiana.
