Sandra Louise Durbin

Sandra Louise (Whitmer) Durbin, 70, of Floyds Knobs, Indiana, passed away on Saturday, June 4, 2016. She worked as a controller at Koetter Construction for many years until her retirement. Sandy was an avid reader and traveler. She especially enjoyed vacationing in Cancun, Mexico and spending the winters in Oro Valley, Arizona with her husband. Sandy cherished any time that she could spend with her 12 grandchildren.

She was born on June 24, 1945 in Louisville, Kentucky to the late Wilbur & Julia (Jackson) Whitmer. Sandy is survived by her husband of over 51 years, Curtis Durbin, Jr.; children, Curtis Durbin III (Bridget), Julianne Turner (Russell), & Jennifer Durbin; grandchildren, Isaiah, Michael, Samuel, Lillie, Isaac, Rachel, Grace, Daniel, Joseph, Joshua, Lyla, & Gessa.

Visitation will be 3 PM to 8 PM Wednesday, June 8, 2016, at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) and from 9 AM to 10:15 AM on Thursday. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 AM on Thursday at St. Mary of the Knobs Catholic Church (5719 St. Mary's Road, Floyds Knobs, Indiana 47119) with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
