Glenda M. Nelson, 79, of Louisville, Kentucky passed away on Wednesday, June 1, 2016. She was born in Butler County , Kentucky on June 7, 1936 to the late Rodney and Dorene Byers. She was a member of Central Church of Christ.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Earl Nelson; and a brother, Doug Byers.
Glenda is survived by her children, Mark (Gail) Aubrey, Kimberly (Richard Hickey) Aubrey, Scott (Beth) Nelson; five grandchildren, Shana Greer (Bradley), Mark Aubrey II, Emily Cleveland (Ryan Sloat), Taylor Nelson, and Austin Nelson; three great-grandchildren, Conner, Hunter and soon to be Riley; sisters, Norma Johnson, Carolyn Krueger (Larry), Rhonda Newton (Mike); brothers, Bill Byers (Jeanie), Kent Byers (Elaine), Tony Byers; a sister-in law, Margie Byers; as well as a host of other family members and friends.
A service to celebrate her life will be conducted Tuesday, June 7, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home Southwest Louisville Chapel, 10304 Dixie Highway with burial to follow in Highland Memory Garden. Visitation will be from 2-8 on Monday at the funeral home.
Expressions of sympathy are suggested to Hosparus of Louisville or Elderserve.
