Pamela Louise (Ray) Rice, 58, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on May 20, 2016. She was born on August 28, 1957, in Jeffersonville, Indiana, to Morgan and Charlotte (Grant) Hearn. Pam was a great caregiver and worked for Rolling Hills Nursing Home for many years. She was a member of the Second Baptist Church in New Albany, Indiana. Pam was a great daughter, sister, mother, nana, and compassionate friend who will truly be missed.
Pam was loving to everyone she knew. She took care of others willingly, and she gave the very best of herself and never once complained. Her laugh was infectious; she knew just what to say and do to brighten everyone's day. Pam was everything to everyone. She knew what you needed before you even asked. Her love was unconditional and endless, and she will never be forgotten.
Pam was preceded in death by her son, Marlon Marshaun Ray. She is survived by her loving children, Tyrone Ray (Niesha), Jamie Grant (Kristian); her parents, Morgan and Charlotte Hearn; siblings, Richard Evans, Robert Ray, Michael Ray (Maudie), Sheila Dockery (Stacy) Stephanie Flores (Mike), Kimberly Hearn, and Monica Sutton (Mark); 7 grandchildren, Treyvonn, Czer, Tania, Mariah, Jaden, Jakobi, and Tatum; her significant other, Errol Dumas along with a host of nieces and nephews and a special friend, Martha Lampkin.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 26, 2016 from 4 to 8 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany, IN 47150) and 9 to 11 AM on Friday at Second Baptist Church (300 East Main Street, New Albany, IN 47150). Her Funeral Service will be held on Friday, May 27, 2016 at 11 AM at the church with burial to follow at Westhaven Cemetery in New Albany.
