Thomas "Gerald" McCauley, 77, of Lanesville, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, November 1, 2015 at his home with his loving family by his side. He was an avid outdoorsman that loved hunting, fishing, singing and guitar picking, gardening, and camping. He was a founding member of the Pine Ridge Bow Hunter's Club in New Albany and was also a Kentucky Colonel.
Gerald was born on August 22, 1938 in Dant, Kentucky to the late Francis D. and Mary Jane (Blanton) McCauley. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Fr. Charles Borgia and Joseph McCauley and sisters, Caroline Baumart and Regina Arnett.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Peggy (Litch) McCauley; children, Julie Walker (Anthony), Melissa Sorrels (William), Susan Blair (Elmer), Dana Mathis (Larry), and Thomas J. McCauley; sisters, Grace McClure, Rita Goss, Mary Renig, Patricia Watkins, Emily McCauley; 20 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be 1 PM to 8 PM on Wednesday, November 4, 2015 at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). His Funeral Service will be at 1 PM on Thursday, November 5, 2015 at the funeral home with cremation to follow according to Gerald's wishes.
