Paul Joseph Richardson II left our world on Friday July 17, 2015. He leaves an indelible mark on all that knew him. He was a lifelong scholar and an avid seeker of truth and knowledge. A lover of beauty and a peaceful soul. Paul had a heart a big as Texas and a laugh that started in his belly and then rolled over others leaving joy in its wake.
Father to five children that were the light of his life. He described his little ones as; Alan the most rational and a true gentleman, Austin the strongest and with the sweetest soul, Mary the smartest and an accomplished arguer, Ethan the most fun-loving and his little buddy, and Emaline the most regal and his little perfect princess. His lessons of honor, integrity, honesty, and love will remain with his children and continue through generations to come.
A lifelong love of learning propelled Paul through a rigorous program of Nuclear Engineering in the Navy where he served his country on the USS Bainbridge. He earned a double degree in Biology and Psychology from the University of North Florida, an MBA from the University of North Carolina, a Masters of Education in Instructional Technology from Texas Tech University, and was a doctoral candidate in the EDIT program at Texas Tech University.
Belinda and Paul were married for ten years and could often be seen holding hands, hugging, and kissing. A possible embarrassment to their children, Paul believed they secretly liked seeing their parents' love expressed. Paul described their marriage as beating all the odds. He often said that they were an awesome team. Belinda says that ultimately she is left wishing that she would have found her King sooner so that she could have loved him longer.
A devoted son, Paul described his mother Bonnie as the sweetest soul on Earth. He remained in awe of his sister Melody's work ethic and ability to be positive in all things, his brother Jason's sweet spirit and talent, and his brother Asher's open honesty and passionate fortitude. Paul was proud to call Melody's husband Richard a brother and loved his nieces Jazz, Paris, and Rose beyond the miles that separated them.
Paul leaves our lives too soon, but will never leave our hearts.
A memorial celebration of Paul's life will be 2pm Sunday, July 26, 2015 at Faith Community United Church of Christ 14001 Shelbyville Rd. Louisville, KY.
